Auditions for 2024 are NOW OPEN!

Do you love to sing, or do you know someone who does? Book your audition for the Project Prima Volta (PPV) Junior and Senior singing groups for 2024!

If you’re a student between Year 6 to 13 living in Hawke’s Bay, here is your chance to:

  • Challenge yourself

  • Make new friends

  • Find your voice

  • Perform alongside professional musicians in a variety of concerts and productions

PPV is a nationally recognised free weekly singing programme which encourages young people to develop their voices, creativity, self-confidence and skills-for-life through performance. Auditions for the 2024/25 programme are happening Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th May in Napier and Hastings.

 

PPV Senior

Project Prima Volta Senior is a nationally recognised, FREE weekly singing programme for high school students which encourages young people to develop their voices, creativity, self-confidence and skills-for-life through performance. Weekly rehearsals run 4.30-6.30pm Thursdays in Napier/Hastings.

This year’s PPV Senior group will participate in a variety of community concerts and staged productions including a PPV recital series at the MTG Century Theatre entitled ‘Soundbites’, a collaboration with Choirs Aotearoa in Wellington and a student opera. PPV will also perform in Festival Opera’s annual opera season in February 2025.

Sunday 5th May 2024, 2-4pm in Hastings (Hastings Boys’ High School, Music Suite)

PPV Junior

Project Prima Volta Junior is a programme for students year 6 – 9, based on our successful senior model which has been running for a decade. Weekly rehearsals focus on training the voice, improving confidence, having fun and developing performance skills through staged musical productions and smaller performance opportunities. PPV Junior meets weekly from 4.30pm – 5.30pm in Napier. A full schedule will be shared on successful entry into the programme.

If you can sing Twinkle, Twinkle – you’re ready! As much as listening to your voice, our team want to get to know YOU at your audition, and hear why you want to be part of Project Prima Volta.
